With an additional snow day on Wednesday, February 20th, we will need to add the equivalent of one student day. Instead of adding another day, we will plan to have students attend school all day on Wednesday, May 15th, Wednesday, May 22nd, and Wednesday, May 29th. There will be no early dismissal for Teacher Professional Development on these days.
With the latest snow day on Monday, February 25th, we will make up the equivalent of one student day by eliminating the Wednesday Early Dismissals on Wednesday, April 24th, Wednesday, May 1st, and Wednesday, May 8th. Students will attend school all day on these dates. The last day of school will remain Tuesday, June 4th.
The mission of the Greene County Community School District in partnership with the communities that make up the school district is to provide all students with the foundation for lifelong learning. We will build this foundation by developing the individual and social responsibilities of students, encouraging them to make productive use of time, technology, and resources, actively engaging them through diverse instructional strategies, and encouraging them to be critical thinkers.
As a school district, we invite parents/guardians, students, businesses, and community members to actively work with us as we build this foundation and provide our students with the best education possible. We look forward to working together and having an excellent year.
