Culinary Camp

Culinary Career Exploration Camp Grades 4-8 a Success!

Thirteen students in fourth through eighth grades joined us yesterday after school for an action-packed hour and a half of culinary activities including hand and table sanitation, presentation skills, knife skills, and nutritional education.

Students prepared pizza crackers, veggie pizza, and fruit pizza. Family and consumer teacher Julie Kennedy brought her live herb plants and talked to the students about which ones would be good on their veggie pizza. Family and consumer science instructor Lisa Garnett, ISU Extension's Samantha Hardaway, and Greene County student Skylar Warnke assisted the students with their edible projects.

We thank the students, teachers, and volunteers for helping us with our culinary camps!

Our next career exploration camps are for welding. Students in grades first through third will have their camp on October 3 and students in grades fourth through eighth will have theirs on October 17th. If you are interested, please contact Samantha Hardaway at 515.386.2138 to sign up. The cost is $10.
