Members Awarded FFA Jackets

Sunday, December 10th, the Greene County FFA hosted their annual Awards Night and Jacket Ceremony at the Greene County High School. During this event, the chapter recognized their members for their hard work and accomplishments from the summer and fall career development events. Additionally, members provided spectators with committee reports over the 2023 year's activities including the crop plot, fall fundraiser, and community service events.

The events ended with the 10th annual Jacket Ceremony. This ceremony was started with a partnership with the Greene County Cattlemen to make sure every Greene County FFA member receives a blue corduroy jacket to wear during competitions, conventions, and events such as Awards Night. During the ceremony, former Greene County FFA member, Kaitlyn Fields, spoke about her journey in the blue corduroy jacket and the lessons FFA had taught her. Bill Fields, board member for the Greene County Cattlemen, was in attendance to help distribute the FFA jackets to the 17 new high school FFA members.

Since it became the official dress of the FFA back in 1933, the jacket unifies members in a long-standing tradition and reminds them they are part of something larger than themselves. Through this generous donation, every Greene County FFA member has the chance to be a part of the tradition.
