🌳 Teamwork, challenges, and connections at YCamp!

Last week, GCMS 7th graders took their learning beyond the classroom during our trip to YCamp! Students had opportunities to practice communication, leadership, and teamwork—listening to others, taking turns, encouraging classmates, and working with peers beyond their usual friend groups.

The day’s challenges gave students a chance to persevere, build confidence, and see how their choices contribute to a team. These are skills we’ll continue building in the classroom and throughout our school community!

A big THANK YOU to BOOST, our middle school staff, and parents for supporting this experience. Your support helps make meaningful opportunities like this possible for our students! 💚

GCMS Let Grow Challenge Spotlight!

The Let Grow Challenge encourages students to step outside their comfort zones, try something new, and build independence and confidence along the way!

Today, we’re excited to spotlight four students and their challenges:
⭐ Mishael R. put air in a car tire for the first time and learned how to correctly use the air pump and read the tire pressure.
⭐ Catnyss H. used a riding lawn mower for the first time—and discovered that mowing can actually be fun!
⭐ Monroe R. started a gas weed eater for the first time. After troubleshooting an empty gas tank and a loose gas cap (and watching a few videos!), she figured it out!
⭐ Tayleigh T. loaded rocks with a skid loader for the first time and learned how important it is to pay attention to the controls while operating it.

Every challenge looks a little different because independence looks different for every student. Each new experience is a chance to leave their comfort zone and start spreading their wings.

We’re proud of our students for giving themselves the chance to try, and we can’t wait to see what they take on next!

❤️ Ram Pride in Action! ❤️

Our 5th grade FCS students and their teacher, Ms. Ostrander, took their learning beyond the classroom with a special visit to Regency Park! 🐏

Students delivered beautiful wreaths they made themselves and, even more importantly, spent time visiting and connecting with the residents. The smiles, conversations, and shared moments made this a meaningful experience for everyone involved! ❤️

We are so proud of our students for spreading kindness and showing what it means to be a part of the Ram Family—and our larger community!

Way to show your Ram Pride, 5th grade! 🐏❤️

🐏❤️🖤 RAM SPIRIT FRIDAY! ❤️🖤

We wrapped up HOCO week with Ram Spirit from head to toe! Our students showed up decked out in their Ram gear and brought the energy all day long! 🙌🐏

And then… it was time to PEP RALLY! 📣🔥

The competition was CLOSE, but the 8th grade squeaked out the win by just ONE point and gets to keep the Spirit Stick! 🏆🐏

👏 7th grade brought the heat, while 5th and 6th grade showed AMAZING effort and were never far behind! It was a whole-school battle of Ram Pride!

What a way to finish an incredible HOCO week! ❤️🖤

Mrs. Pederson helped make Homecoming Friday a little brighter by celebrating Dolly Parton Day (9 to 5) with a cart full of pink snacks for our staff!

Thank you, Mrs. Pederson, for always finding ways to keep things fun and for giving everyone a much-needed pick-me-up on a dreary Friday morning. We appreciate you!

Shoutout to these proactive 6th graders! 👏

Noticing their Gaga pit was getting too muddy/grassy to play, they took initiative and moved the entire pit to a better spot so the games could keep rolling.

Huge thanks to these boys for showing great leadership, teamwork, and school pride! 💪 #StudentLeaders #GagaBall #SchoolSpirit #Teamwork
