Greene County Community School District has launched a new YouTube channel: @GCCSDActivities (https://www.youtube.com/@GCCSDActivities).
From now on, sporting, music, and drama events will be livestreamed on the @GCCSDActivities YouTube channel -- free for everyone to watch.
In addition, all sporting events held in the Greene County High School gymnasium and at Linduska Field will also be simulcast on our HUDL page: https://fan.hudl.com/usa/ia/jefferson/organization/6968/greene-county-high-school.
Be sure to subscribe (and tell your friends) so you never miss a performance or a game.
Go Rams!

In Greene County’s halls where the Wi-Fi hums low,
A problem appears—yet who’s first in the know?
It’s Brent, the rock star with humor so bright,
Who can fix a server in the dead of the night.
With kindness abundant and knowledge so vast,
He turns error screens into solutions that last.
Servers salute him, and networks all cheer,
For Brent is the hero we’re glad to revere.
But every great legend needs a strong friend—
Enter Josef, the sidekick on whom we depend.
Together they conquer the quirks and the mess,
Two IT crusaders who always impress.
And when morale dips or the work feels too savage,
Brent lightens the room with Randy Savage!
“Ooooh yeah!” echoes through the tech room with style,
Leaving everyone laughing for mile after mile.
From tangled-up cables to laptops that freeze,
They solve it with laughter—and incredible ease.
They guard Greene’s tech kingdom with courage and care,
Restoring our systems with flair beyond compare.
So here’s to our duo, the district’s delight,
Who keep us all running from morning to night.
On IT Appreciation Day, we all say—
“Thanks, Brent and Josef, you save every day!”

Dear GCHS Families and Community Members,
Homecoming is a special time for our students and community, filled with spirit, tradition, and celebration. While we want everyone to enjoy the week’s events, we also want to make sure that fun does not come at the expense of safety.
In recent years, the long-standing tradition of “TPing” has grown beyond simple rolls of toilet paper and has unfortunately involved unsafe behaviors such as:
*Large groups of vehicles traveling at high speeds
*Ignoring stop signs and other traffic laws
*Using items other than toilet paper (food, forks, toothpicks, foil, etc.) in yards
*Students imposing on unwanted community members' homes
These activities create dangerous conditions and cause unnecessary damage to property. Together with the Jefferson Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, we are committed to addressing these concerns with seriousness and consistency this year.
Here’s how you can help:
*Talk with your students about the importance of celebrating safely and respecting others’ property.
*Report unsafe driving or suspicious activity to local law enforcement right away.
*Model for our students how we can support tradition without compromising safety.
We want Homecoming to be remembered for its positive moments: the parade, the games, the school spirit, and the shared pride in our community. By working together, we can keep the focus on celebrating safely.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe, respectful, and proud.
With appreciation,
Karen Shannon
GCHS Principal
