An update regarding our upcoming Field Day event.
Due to the flexible nature of our schedule and the various events planned for Field Day, we have made the decision to limit attendance to students only. This decision was made to ensure the smooth running of activities and to accommodate the various events taking place concurrently with Field Day.
While we understand that parents often look forward to attending such events, we believe that this adjustment will allow us to provide the best experience for our students and ensure that they can fully participate in all planned activities.
Rest assured, we will be capturing the highlights of the day through photos and videos, which we will gladly share with you afterward.

Field Day will take place on Tuesday, May 21st for 5th and 6th grade and Wednesday, May 22nd for 7th and 8th grade .
As part of the excitement, we are offering the opportunity for students to order a commemorative Field Day shirt to wear on the day of the event. As part of the events we are doing a color run, this white shirt will serve as a canvas for the color that will be thrown at the runners.

Thank you New Way Trucks for honoring our Bailey Jones a 6-7 Special Education Teacher for National Teacher Appreciation Week. Bailey was nominated by 3 people to receive their recognition. Bailey's family was able to attend the presentation and is pictured below! Congratulations Bailey and Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all GCCSD Teachers and Staff.
There will be an informational meeting for 7th and 8th graders who are interested in playing school baseball this summer, tomorrow, May 7th at 1:30 in the GCMS auditorium. Practice will start Wednesday, May 8th after school. An informational parent meeting will be held Wednesday, May 8th at 5:30 in the High School Commons.

We were seeing Double today at GCMS! The teachers participated in Twin Day!
Due to hazardous driving conditions, there will be no band clinic at the high school this evening.
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up next week, May 6-10. We are wanting to treat our teachers all week by stocking the teacher's lounge. If you are able to help show them how much they are appreciated not just this week but all year, please see the attached flyer for your respected grade level donations!
Due to the potential incoming bad weather there will be no after school practices today for GCMS.
For Earth Day, GCMS Student Council went around school grounds and the surrounding streets to clean up trash. They filled lots of bags with garbage! We have a great group of kids who are always willing to step up and help out! They even found a snake!!
GCMS Student Council is hosting Terrific Tuesday's to finish out the school year. They have chosen fun and creative dress up days! Below are the themes for each Tuesday. We will also share ideas for each week. This week's theme is : Rhyme without Reason! We encourage students to participate each Tuesday, knowing that the school dress code is still going to be enforced, but students may wear hats if it is part of their outfit.
