The following message was sent to all families today in Greene County regarding transportation services for the 2025-2026 school year. Dear Greene County Families, We are writing to inform you that there will be important changes to how transportation will be provided for students starting in the 2025-26 school year. Our district is facing transportation issues that have become more significant in recent years. For example, the shortage of bus drivers, overcrowded buses, and increased activity routes has made it increasingly difficult to provide service for all of our students. As part of the state's regulations, we are required to provide transportation for students who live more than 2 miles from their assigned elementary or middle school and those who live more than 3 miles from the high school. Over the next few weeks, our district will provide updated information that will be posted on our website, social media pages, and sent through regular building communication to include details about eligibility, routes, and alternative considerations. We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we work to make these changes as smooth as possible. The goal is to ensure that every student can get to school safely while addressing the transportation challenges we are facing. Thank you for your partnership.
