And because no 90’s week is complete without something sweet 🍪✨—thank you to Mrs. Mohr’s (8th grade Literacy) mom for the amazing dessert bars and to Mrs. Pederson for the Crumbl Cookies that helped us end the week on the best possible note.

Day 4 of our 90’s Teacher Appreciation Week- Today’s theme was Teenage Dirtbag as our staff rocked their best 90’s grunge style while enjoying an “I Sip, You Sip, We Sip” Dirty Soda Bar complete with the ultimate surprise… a brand new nugget ice maker for the staff lounge! 🧊✨ Because let’s be real — nugget ice is a total 90’s level upgrade. 😎

Staff who opted in also got to relax and recharge with chair massages provided by Soma By Kristal and Dr. Abby from Prime Performance—a well-deserved treat! 💆♀️

Our 6th grade team represented GCMS so well at the Battle of the Books yesterday! While we didn’t place high enough to bring home a trophy, they competed right alongside the top half of teams and had an outstanding day. Out of nearly 40 teams, finishing somewhere in the top 6–10 across the three testing rounds is something to be proud of!
Beyond the competition, it was a great experience meeting other teams and seeing their creativity. Most importantly, our students were kind, respectful, and truly represented GCMS in the best way.
A special thank you to Mrs. Powers for sponsoring this incredible opportunity for our students!
A big thank you to everyone who supported our Battle of the Books teams throughout the year—especially those who allowed students to meet during reading interventions and encouraged them to keep reading. Their dedication paid off, and I know they’re already excited for next year!
