Parents and families, don’t miss “From the Playground to the Screen,” a powerful presentation focused on conflict, bullying, and cyberbullying.
When: Tonight, January 29
Where: GCHS Auditorium (1901 N. Grinnell Rd)
Time: Doors open at 5:00 PM, Presentation: 5:30-6:30 PM
Earlier this afternoon, presenter Robert Hackenson Jr. worked with our 2nd-4th grade students, talking about healthy ways to handle emotions, stress, and conflict. He even mixed in a little magic and humor, which made the message fun, memorable, and highly engaging. The presentation was very well received by our elementary students.
Tonight’s session is designed for parents and families and will cover:
- How to coach kids through conflict, Conversation vs. debate
- What bullying and cyberbullying are (and aren’t)
- Warning signs to watch for
- What to do if your child is being bullied or bullying others
- Practical resources and next steps
If you liked what your child talked about after school today, you’ll definitely want to be here tonight.
All parents are encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!

Due to the extremely cold temperatures expected, Greene County Schools will be closed for Friday, January 23rd.
Please be safe and have a great weekend!

Mentoring Program Event

Mrs. Powers took her two 7th grade classes to Regency today to deliver holiday cards they lovingly created. Some students also made thoughtful “Thinking of You” cards to ensure everyone felt included.
This simple act of kindness brought so many smiles and genuine thank-yous from the residents—we could truly see how much it meant to them. One resident even shared her singing, jumping electronic dog with our students, bringing lots of laughter and joy to the visit! 🐶🎶
Moments like these remind us how powerful kindness and connection can be. We are so proud of our students for spreading joy in our community!

Students were introduced to the contest in October during Miss Molayal’s 5th grade social studies class. Those who chose to participate put in extra time and effort at home, completing their essays before Thanksgiving Break.
The essays were thoughtful and meaningful, sharing what the American flag represents to each student. We are incredibly proud of all the students who participated and the hard work they demonstrated—every entry was a wonderful reflection of our school community.
The first place essay will be sent in to be judged with other finalists at the state level.
Please join us in congratulating Riah, Nora, and Zoey on this outstanding achievement!

Concert Schedule:
Doors open at 5:30 PM
5th Grade Band – 6:00 PM
6th Grade Band – 6:30 PM
