With Valentine's Day tomorrow, we want to remind you that anything that doesn't fit in a student's backpack (balloons, flowers, glass containers, etc.) will not be allowed on the bus. If your child has something at school that does not fit in their backpack, it will need to be picked up in the office. Thank you for your help keeping our buses safe!

The information below was sent via email to all parents and families of Greene County Schools:
Good evening Greene County Families,
Tomorrow morning, each of our schools will be entering into a lockdown drill to ensure that we are practicing and efficient with our emergency drills. The emphasis that we will have with our students will be as follows:
Students report to the nearest classroom
Close, cover, and lock all doors and windows
Shut off lights
Move all occupants away from doors and windows
Ignore all bells/alarms unless otherwise instructed
Await further instruction
We appreciate any conversations you may have with your child(ren) this evening in regards to this important safety event that will be taking place tomorrow morning at all three schools.
Please reach out to Superintendent of Schools, Brett Abbotts, with any additional questions or comments.

Dear Families,
I am writing to update you on an incident that was reported to have occurred at Greene County Middle School during the school day on Tuesday, January 23. A middle school aged student was reported to be making a verbal threat to school safety.
Our middle school principal immediately took action to investigate and provide necessary information to our local police department. We have been informed that the student is likely to face charges as a result of the comments.
While this was an isolated incident, we want our families to know that we take this situation very seriously. We are fully cooperating with the police investigation and are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our entire school community.
As always, we encourage everyone to speak up if they see or hear anything that could represent a potential school safety issue.
Please donât hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your attention to this communication.
Sincerely,
Brett Abbotts
Superintendent
