The GCHS Esport SMITE team advances to the state championship! The Rams beat Roland Story 2-1 in the semifinals. They are scheduled to play against Iowa Falls later this evening. Congrats, Rams! Go get that state championship!

The Greene County High School Esports team is competing in the SMITE state playoffs today. The team was escorted out of town by the police department this morning as they headed to Des Moines. The Rams had their first match against West Delaware and won 2-0 to advance to the semifinals. They will be playing against the winner of the Roland Story/Belmond Klemme match which will conclude later this morning. Currently, the state matches have not been streamed, but that may change in the upcoming rounds. Stay tuned for that information when it's available. Good luck Rams!

Greene County Community School District will be holding the 8th Grade Promise to Graduate Ceremony this afternoon at 2:00. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in the Greene County High School auditorium. Parents are requested to park on the south side of the school and enter through the south entrance. At the conclusion of the event, parents are welcome to bring their students home, otherwise, students will be bused back to the middle school for their regular dismissal. With the assistance of the Jefferson Tree Committee members, Greene County 8th grade students planted forty trees today in two different parks in Jefferson. Ten trees were planted in Head Park and thirty trees were planted in Russell Park. Jefferson Tree Committee members showed the 8th grade students the appropriate way to plant a tree and talked about how to care for them after doing so. Thank you to the 8th grade students for their work and the Jefferson Tree Committee members for providing a great learning and service experience to our students.

Registration is OPEN for the 23-24 school year! Yeah, get it over with so you don't have to rush in August.
