The Junior class chili supper has been postponed to Tuesday, January 18th. It will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm in the high school cafeteria. Carryout will still be available on the north side of the building from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

Basketball and Wrestling Information: This Friday night's basketball games vs Roland Story have been postponed. The games will be played on Thursday, January 27th. JV girls will play at 4:30, varsity girls at 6:00, and varsity boys at 7:00. On Saturday, wrestling will NOT be going to Solon, but to Perry instead. That wrestling meet begins at 9:00.

On February 19th, the Greene County Jazz Band will hold its inaugural Java and Jazz showcase, and thanks to a grant from BOOST, our concert will feature the Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra. Our concert will also feature free coffee for our guests, thanks to the generosity of Greene Bean Coffee . Our students will perform their competition set at 3 pm, then play in collaborative jazz combos with professionals from the IWJO. Finally, the IWJO will perform an hour set at 4:30. Proceeds will go toward our Disney Trip as well as band equipment.

At the board meeting last night (11/15), three of the Greene County Community School District board members finished their terms as active members. Doctor Steve Karber (right) and Catherine Wilson (left) served on the school board from 2017 - 2021 and Mike Denhardt (middle) served from 2016 - 2021. These board members were instrumental in positively guiding the district through many different challenges including the new construction projects and the COVID-19 pandemic. Greene County Community School District is very thankful for their efforts, ideas, and accomplishments. Thank you for your service, Steve, Catherine, and Mike!

Senior parents/guardians, don't forget that Iowa Central Community College will be at the high school this Thursday, November 11th from 4-7! Use the Career Academy entrance on the North side of the building. Stop in and have questions answered about college and get help completing the FAFSA. This is open to all seniors.
