This Friday night's basketball games vs Roland Story have been postponed.
The games will be played on Thursday, January 27th. JV girls will play at 4:30, varsity girls at 6:00, and varsity boys at 7:00.
On Saturday, wrestling will NOT be going to Solon, but to Perry instead. That wrestling meet begins at 9:00.

On February 19th, the Greene County Jazz Band will hold its inaugural Java and Jazz showcase, and thanks to a grant from BOOST, our concert will feature the Iowa Women’s Jazz Orchestra. Our concert will also feature free coffee for our guests, thanks to the generosity of Greene Bean Coffee . Our students will perform their competition set at 3 pm, then play in collaborative jazz combos with professionals from the IWJO. Finally, the IWJO will perform an hour set at 4:30. Proceeds will go toward our Disney Trip as well as band equipment.

At the board meeting last night (11/15), three of the Greene County Community School District board members finished their terms as active members. Doctor Steve Karber (right) and Catherine Wilson (left) served on the school board from 2017 - 2021 and Mike Denhardt (middle) served from 2016 - 2021. These board members were instrumental in positively guiding the district through many different challenges including the new construction projects and the COVID-19 pandemic. Greene County Community School District is very thankful for their efforts, ideas, and accomplishments. Thank you for your service, Steve, Catherine, and Mike!

Use the Career Academy entrance on the North side of the building. Stop in and have questions answered about college and get help completing the FAFSA. This is open to all seniors. GCCSD partners with the Food Bank of Iowa to provide food products for our students and families. Food pantry items are sent home in student backpacks on Fridays. We strive to provide items to create a meal and/or supplement the home's pantry. All students are eligible to receive pantry items. Iowa Central Community College will be at the high school on Thursday, November 11th from 4-7 PM for a Triton Tour. Students and parents are welcome to attend to learn more about Iowa Central and the programs they offer, schedule a tour, get help filing the FAFSA or applying to the college, or to ask questions about Iowa Central or other colleges around the area. All-State music auditions were held on Saturday, Oct. 23rd, at 6 sites around the state. Greene County students went to Atlantic to audition. Ten students auditioned for the all-state choir, and results are as follows: Kierstin Purdie, Ava Schilling, Olivia Hoyt, Gavin VanderLinden and Brianna Blasnitz were accepted into the choir. Daniele Madsen and Wyatt Villebro were both recalled and Daniele was chosen as a first alternate. These 5 students will participate in the 75th Iowa All-State Festival Nov. 18-20 in Ames. Being selected to an all-state ensemble is the highest honor attainable for a high school musician.

Greene County will host Roland-Story in the first round of the 2021 Football Playoffs this Friday night, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.
All tickets for the game are $8 and are sold online per the policy of the IHSAA.

The Greene County Football Team has qualified for the playoffs and we have a clothing order open at this time.
The online store closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 17.
There will be no orders taken after the Sunday night deadline and this will be the only playoff clothing order done. There will not be a second one.
The order will be delivered to the high school and then we will work to sort it as quickly as we can. We will send out an email when the order is ready to be picked up and also post on social media.
