There is a large-scale cell phone carrier issue that is preventing cellular numbers from calling local numbers. As a result, most incoming cellular calls to the school are currently failing. Good afternoon Ram Families,
The 24-25 school year is off and running and we have had a great first few days of school and we are looking to continue those moving forward.
Fall MAP Testing Next Week
Next week will mark the beginning of our Fall MAP Testing. All students in Kindergarten through 11th will complete these assessments and give us our baseline of where are students are at, what direction we need to go with their learning, and set growth and achievement targets to ensure their success for the rest of the school year. We are excited to see all of the great progress that our students are going to make!
As for Homecoming Week
On Friday, September 20th, Greene County Schools will have a 2-hour early dismissal at ALL schools. This will provide our families the time to get their students to the parade and events that happen prior to our homecoming football game without the need to miss additional instruction or schoolwork.
Two Hour Early Dismissal times for all buildings are as follows:
Elementary - 1:25pm
Middle School - 1:30pm
High School - 1:23pm
Thank you for your partnership with our schools and we are looking forward to a successful 24-25 school year! Go Rams!

📢KONA ICE TIME! 📢 Kona Ice will return to GMCS on Thursday, September 19th. This is the last month to pre-pay for the entire year! The pre-pay link will be closed at 8:00 am on Thursday, September 19th and cash will be accepted! 20% of sales is returned to GCMS!

🗣️Huge thank you to Jefferson Fareway! They stopped by with a platter of cookies for our GCMS staff! It was greatly appreciated and enjoyed!!

KONA ICE TOMORROW! Pre-Pay shuts off at 8:00AM. Cash will be accepted at the truck! $5 exact change is encouraged! Students will go at the end of their lunch period.

Just a reminder Kona Ice will be at GCMS on Thursday, August 29th! Pre-pay is accepted until 8:00am Thursday! August and September will be your only chance to pre-pay for the entire year! 20% of sales comes straight back to our school!

Athletic Practice Adjustments for 8/26

Due to the extreme heat MS practices will be as follows for Monday, August 26th:
MS Cross Country- No practice
MS Football- 7th and 8th Grade will do concussion baseline testing in Mr. Paulsen's room right after the early out. No practice after that.
MS Volleyball- As scheduled

This is a friendly reminder that we will be dismissing students at 1:30 p.m. every Monday to allow our staff to participate in professional development sessions.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to continuous learning!

Welcome Back, Students!
We're excited to see everyone tomorrow as we kick off another fantastic school year!
A few important reminders:
Arrival Time: Please arrive no earlier than 7:45 AM.
Normal Schedule: Tomorrow will be a normal school day, so make sure you're prepared for your classes.
7th Graders: All 7th-grade students should report to the auditorium for a special meeting to start the day.
All Other Students: Please go directly to the first class listed on your schedule.
Free Breakfast: Don't forget, free breakfast is available for all students!
We're looking forward to a great year filled with learning, growth, and positivity. Let's make it a wonderful start!

Friendly reminder that bus pick up and drop off times are approximate. It may take a week or two for drivers and riders to learn each other's routines.
A couple things to note:
Our Westwood bus stop location has been moved to Westwood & Rushridge (west loop). Since this is a late change, the town route bus driver will be mindful of students who may be waiting at the old Hickory stop for the first couple of days.
On "Monday-early-out" days your bus rider will be dropped off at their normal bus stop approximately 2 hours earlier. For example - if the normal bus drop off time is 4:23pm, the "early-out" drop off time will be approximately 2:23pm (two hours earlier).
Thank you in advance for your patience!

🚨 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU 🚨
Home State Bank provided dinner for our staff last night as they prepared for open house. We were able to enjoy a “Ram Family meal” together before welcoming families into the building! We are always grateful for the love and support from our community!!
