GCMS Families, This email is to notify you that conference sign-ups are now available for Greene County Middle School. Conferences will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 4:00 pm - 7:40 pm.  While we encourage all families to meet with their student's teachers, please at this time only sign up for 1 teacher per child. Greene County Community School District is excited to announce the addition of 8 new emergency strobe lights across the district, strategically placed in areas where audible alerts may not always be heard, such as gyms, cafeterias, shops, and band and choir rooms. These lights serve as a visual alert system, ensuring everyone—students, staff, and visitors—can quickly respond in case of an emergency. This important safety upgrade was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Greene County Community Foundation. We are deeply grateful for their continued support in helping us provide a safer and more inclusive environment for all. Together, we’re making our schools safer for every member of our community. Another episode of "The Cave" is here. This week, the podcast features Raccoon Valley Radio personality Coltrane Carlson. Coltrane shared the story of what led him to a career in radio and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a broadcaster. Don’t miss it! Coltrane also brought some very exciting news for the girls and "The Cave" podcast. Moving forward, Raccoon Valley Radio will broadcast each weekly podcast on KGRA 98.9FM, airing Wednesdays at 6:40 AM. The episode can also be heard via the Raccoon Valley Website by navigating to www.raccoonvalleyradio.com, selecting the "More" tab, clicking "Listen Live", and then clicking on the KG98 button. Friendly reminder to check Infinite Campus to see if your child(ren) need(s) money put into their lunch account or have unpaid fees related to registration, athletics, chromebook repairs, etc. You can expect to receive a monthly statement in the mail if: *lunch account balances are negative. *there are any unpaid fees of $15 dollars or more.

Good morning Ram Families, Greene County Schools will have a 2-hour late start on Thursday, January 2nd due to poor traveling conditions. There will be no morning activities or AM Preschool. Road conditions will continue to be evaluated throughout the next couple of hours for decisions regarding the remainder of the school day and/or evening activities. Thank you and have a safe day! Dear Greene County Families, I want to address concerns regarding recent rumors about a potential threat to our middle school’s safety. Please rest assured that the matter has been thoroughly investigated. After working closely with local law enforcement, we have confirmed that no such threat was ever made, and there is no credible danger to our school community. School administrators have made attempts to stop these rumors as they have been hearsay and are not credible. The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. To ensure peace of mind as students return to school, law enforcement officers will be present on campus to provide an additional layer of security and support.
