GCMS Families-
We will not be allowing students to wear costumes tomorrow at school. While Halloween is undoubtedly a fun and festive occasion, it can pose various challenges when it comes to maintaining a conducive learning environment and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Students will be asked to change if they arrive at GCMS wearing any of the following: costumes, masks, face paint, and/or onesie pajamas, etc.
Thanks!
Cara Osborne
GCMS Principal

Dear Ram Family,
We wanted to take this time to share some important information and a reminder with you.
Reminder: Monday, October 23rd is marked as a "No School Day" for all students and staff members. All school buildings will be closed for the day.
Important Information: On Tuesday, November 7th, during the general election, the Greene County Community School District will be asking voters to extend the Voter Approved Physical Plant & Equipment Levy and Income Surtax for an additional 10 years. This highly important fund has always been in place for our schools and does not represent a new or increased tax on our community members.
We hope that you all enjoy the 3-day weekend coming up and we look forward to seeing all of our students return on Tuesday!
Have a great weekend!

Good morning,
Last week we mailed out SAEBRS consent forms to all families we did not have consent for their child to participate. If you have not returned this consent form allowing your student to participate, please read the form and send it in ASAP if you are allowing your child to participate. Your student has taken this screener for several years, but this year the state of Iowa is requesting consent from parents for students to participate.
“The SAEBRS (Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener) is a brief, norm-referenced tool for screening all students to identify those who are at risk for social-emotional behavior (SEB) problems. SAEBRS is one of the only SEB universal screening tools built to align with a dual-factor model of student social-emotional functioning, which asserts that mental health should be defined by both the absence of problem behaviors and symptomatology (e.g., internalizing and externalizing behaviors) and the presence of well-being and competencies (e.g., social-emotional skills).
If You have questions or concerns please reach out to myself of the school counselors Mrs. Hoover or Ms. Hogenson.
Ms. Osborne-GCMS Principal
