As you know Kona Ice will be here on Monday, May 20th. There is an option to Prepay for your student which will help speed up the process of distribution. Students may bring $5.00 cash the day of the event as well. The truck will be here from 11:00-12:30ish and we have scheduled times that each grade level will go out and get their Kona Ice.
Along with prepay there is an option to “pay it forward” if you feel inclined to purchase additional cups for those who may not otherwise get one or if you want to purchase for a class. 20% of all sales will be donated to GCMS.

Tomorrow is another GCMS Student Council sponsored Dress-up Day! We encourage students to participate with school appropriate attire!

Greene County Middle School will host the 5th grade DARE graduation this afternoon at 2:15 PM. Officer Mark Wolterman will be leading the the ceremony, celebrating the students' achievements. The event will be livestreamed on the district's YouTube page and the public is encouraged to tune in. See below for the link.

An update regarding our upcoming Field Day event.
Due to the flexible nature of our schedule and the various events planned for Field Day, we have made the decision to limit attendance to students only. This decision was made to ensure the smooth running of activities and to accommodate the various events taking place concurrently with Field Day.
While we understand that parents often look forward to attending such events, we believe that this adjustment will allow us to provide the best experience for our students and ensure that they can fully participate in all planned activities.
Rest assured, we will be capturing the highlights of the day through photos and videos, which we will gladly share with you afterward.

Field Day will take place on Tuesday, May 21st for 5th and 6th grade and Wednesday, May 22nd for 7th and 8th grade .
As part of the excitement, we are offering the opportunity for students to order a commemorative Field Day shirt to wear on the day of the event. As part of the events we are doing a color run, this white shirt will serve as a canvas for the color that will be thrown at the runners.

There will be an informational meeting for 7th and 8th graders who are interested in playing school baseball this summer, tomorrow, May 7th at 1:30 in the GCMS auditorium. Practice will start Wednesday, May 8th after school. An informational parent meeting will be held Wednesday, May 8th at 5:30 in the High School Commons.

We were seeing Double today at GCMS! The teachers participated in Twin Day!
Due to hazardous driving conditions, there will be no band clinic at the high school this evening.
Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up next week, May 6-10. We are wanting to treat our teachers all week by stocking the teacher's lounge. Due to the potential incoming bad weather there will be no after school practices today for GCMS.
For Earth Day, GCMS Student Council went around school grounds and the surrounding streets to clean up trash. They filled lots of bags with garbage! We have a great group of kids who are always willing to step up and help out! They even found a snake!!
