With the assistance of the Jefferson Tree Committee members, Greene County 8th grade students planted forty trees today in two different parks in Jefferson. Ten trees were planted in Head Park and thirty trees were planted in Russell Park. Jefferson Tree Committee members showed the 8th grade students the appropriate way to plant a tree and talked about how to care for them after doing so. Thank you to the 8th grade students for their work and the Jefferson Tree Committee members for providing a great learning and service experience to our students.

State Speech contestants, musicians, and artists will be performing in the Greene County High School auditorium @ 6pm on April 28th. Poems, humorous prose, and singers will perform. Students will showcase their talent on Friday April 28th at 6pm in the Greene County High School Auditorium. Performers will include the state individual performers and All State winners. Allee Hinote and her original Poem---"My Metaphorical Ocean" Esther Van Horn--Prose --"I'm the Package You Impulsed Ordered Three Days Ago and, No, I'm Not Going to Make You Feel Better" Gavin VanderLinden--Musical Theatre from The Addams Family Ava Schilling--Acting--"Rosanna in Alaska" and All State winner Bella Lindberg-Prose--"Small Town Mayor is Done with Visitors at Christmas Time" Large Group All State winners Jack Hansen, Brayden Roberts, and Nathan Ausberger short film will also be shown. Singers will include Olivia Hoyt performing "Sure on This Shining Night" and Ava Schilling. Art pieces will be displayed in the hall outside the auditorium.

Greene County High School's grand march for the 2023 junior-senior prom will be Saturday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The prom theme this year is A Trip to the Tropics. This event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend. The doors to the high school will open at 5:30 p.m. Students participating in the grand march are encouraged to park in the north lot and all others in the south lot.
