Fall sports practices will be starting soon. Cross Country, Volleyball, and Football practice for students in grades 9-12 will begin Monday, August 7.
Volleyball will start at 8:00 AM for the HS 1 group and 10:00 AM for the HS 2 group. Please contact Head Coach Chris Heisterkamp (heisters@netins.net) with any questions.
Football will start at 4:15 pm. Contact Head Coach Caden Duncan (duncanc@greenecountycsd.net) with questions.
Cross Country will start 7:00 am. Contact Head Coach Jeff Lamoureux (lamoureux6@netins.net) with questions.
The co-op with Carroll HS Girls Swimming will start practice on August 7th at 4:15 at the Carroll Rec Center. Contact Head Coach Deb Danner 712-790-9493 with questions. This is a new sharing agreement for this year open to high school students only. Boys swimming will start in November.
Middle School practices will begin on August 23rd after school. Football questions should be directed to Kyle Kinne (kkinne@greenecountycsd.net), Cross Country questions should be directed to Deb Marquardt (marquardtd@greenecountycsd.net), Volleyball questions should be directed to Kirsten Carmen (carmank@greenecountycsd.net) for 8th grade and Marissa Promes (promesm@greenecountycsd.net) for 7th grade.

Due to overcrowding and driver shortages we have had to make some changes to our routes. We will no longer stop at Elm & Grauer and Lincolnway & Cedar. We will NOT be able to provide transportation for personal activities such as dance, rec programs, GCP, the Webb house, after-school church classes, or any other activities that are not school related. AREA BUSINESSES: Friday, Aug. 18th, Greene County Schools will welcome back our teachers and staff, starting at 7:30am in the High School. We are requesting community businesses be part of this event. Let's welcome back our teachers and support staff in style!! (Please note this is a staff event only.) Tables will be available for local businesses to set up information about their business, provide free information/handouts to teachers and staff, and show their support for the great work that our schools do! If you are interested in setting up a table, please contact Jill in the District Office at (515)386-4168. We look forward to working with local businesses and supporting our teachers!

The GCHS Esport SMITE team advances to the state championship! The Rams beat Roland Story 2-1 in the semifinals. They are scheduled to play against Iowa Falls later this evening.

The Greene County High School Esports team is competing in the SMITE state playoffs today. The team was escorted out of town by the police department this morning as they headed to Des Moines. The Rams had their first match against West Delaware and won 2-0 to advance to the semifinals. They will be playing against the winner of the Roland Story/Belmond Klemme match which will conclude later this morning. Currently, the state matches have not been streamed, but that may change in the upcoming rounds. Stay tuned for that information when it's available.

Greene County Community School District will be holding the 8th Grade Promise to Graduate Ceremony this afternoon at 2:00. The ceremony is scheduled to be held in the Greene County High School auditorium. Parents are requested to park on the south side of the school and enter through the south entrance. At the conclusion of the event, parents are welcome to bring their students home, otherwise, students will be bused back to the middle school for their regular dismissal.
