The following message was sent to all families today in Greene County regarding transportation services for the 2025-2026 school year.
Dear Greene County Families,
We are writing to inform you that there will be important changes to how transportation will be provided for students starting in the 2025-26 school year.
Our district is facing transportation issues that have become more significant in recent years. For example, the shortage of bus drivers, overcrowded buses, and increased activity routes has made it increasingly difficult to provide service for all of our students. As part of the state's regulations, we are required to provide transportation for students who live more than 2 miles from their assigned elementary or middle school and those who live more than 3 miles from the high school.
Over the next few weeks, our district will provide updated information that will be posted on our website, social media pages, and sent through regular building communication to include details about eligibility, routes, and alternative considerations.
We truly appreciate your understanding and support as we work to make these changes as smooth as possible. The goal is to ensure that every student can get to school safely while addressing the transportation challenges we are facing.
Thank you for your partnership. We will be in touch again soon with more specific details.
Sincerely,
Brett Abbotts, Superintendent
Greene County CSD

Good afternoon,
Please note that tomorrow, Monday, March 24th, 2025 will be a school day. Each building will follow the normal Monday early dismissal schedule. We understand there is some confusion regarding the calendar posted on the district website, however, that will be corrected to reflect prior communication.
Thank you and have a great day!

Incoming great episode! Before spring break, the girls sat down with Greene County Athletic Director Dave Wright. He shared why he chose to become an athletic director, what makes a great student-athlete, and even weighed in on the big questionâwho would win in an athletic competition, staff or students? That and much more in this episodeâdonât miss it!
Exciting update! The Cave will now air not just at 6:40 AM, but also at 11:40 AM and 4:40 PM every Wednesday on KGRA 98.9FM. You can also listen via livestream at raccoonvalleyradio.com under the Listen Live tab or on the free KGRA mobile app. Huge thanks to KGRA for their support in promoting our school district!
