We are asking the public to help "Turn Greene County Purple" on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Everyone in Greene County is asked to wear something purple or wear a purple ribbon to raise public awareness as we work to end domestic violence against men, women, and children. The purple ribbon is a visible gesture of support for survivors and victims of domestic violence. Unfortunately, domestic violence is far too prevalent. Greene County has had 53 domestic abuse calls and 25 suspected abusers arrested for domestic abuse assault so far this year. Please plan to wear purple on Tuesday, October 29. There will be purple ribbons available at the high school, Thomas Jefferson Gardens, and the Jefferson Public Library. Thank you for your support.

As a reminder, there will be no school for Greene County students tomorrow, Friday, October 25th, 2024 for teacher professional development and the end of Quarter 1.

All fans that plan on attending the 1st Round Football Playoff game at Clarinda Friday are encouraged to purchase tickets online beforehand. Dear Students and Families,
As we gear up for our home football game this evening, Friday, October 18th, we want to remind our students to stay safe, be respectful, and act responsibly attending the game! Your support is what makes these events exciting and fun, but it's important that we all do our part to create a positive and safe environment.
To ensure everyone enjoys the game:
Stay Safe: Please make sure you're located with your parents, families, or stay within the designated areas provided on the map. Administrators will direct students to these areas. As a reminder, there will be NO sports equipment items allowed during the football game.
Be Respectful: Show good sportsmanship to the opposing team and respect fellow fans, staff, and security.
Be Responsible: Follow our school and district’s guidelines, respect the facilities, and make smart choices throughout the event.
We’re all in this together, so let’s make these games memorable for the right reasons. Enjoy the game and Go RAMS!
Sincerely,
Greene County Schools

The Greene County FFA will be partnering with the Central Plains FFA to collect food and goods to donate to their local food pantries. They will be taking donations the week of the 7th until the first quarter of the football game against Southeast Valley on October 11th. This friendly competition is to see which chapter can collect the most donations for their community. Some items that are recommended to bring are soup, chili beans, canned vegetables, mac and cheese, ketchup and other condiments, shampoo and conditioner, bar soaps, gloves, and hats. The chapter who collects the most donations will be announced at the football game on Friday. Please note that the donations do not count as admissions into the game.

Go Rams!
